Servcorp acknowledges the seriousness of climate change and the significant impact high concentrations of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere is having on the planet.
As a responsible global corporate citizen, Servcorp is committed to protecting the environment from further damage and is actively involved in initiatives to create positive environmental impacts.
In 2008, Servcorp created the
Green Offices Project to support this commitment.
Virtual Offices are inherently environmentally friendly. The existing Servcorp infrastructure is utilised to provide services to a broader range of clients with little or no additional impact on the environment. Servcorp Virtual Office® allows businesses who operate outside of the CBD to reduce the amount of time expended and carbon produced travelling to and from the central business district by allowing them to operate from anywhere. To make a Servcorp Virtual Office® even greener the Green Offices Project plants one additional tree for each virtual office purchased online.
This tree planting is completed in conjunction with Greenfleet, who aim to plant native tress and promote fuel-efficient, low-carbon technologies to actively reduce and offset carbon dioxide emissions. Tree-planting is a simple yet effective way of slowing global warming as the growth process of tress naturally absorbs carbon dioxide which is a major contributor to the warming of the planet.
These trees make up the "Servcorp Forest" which already consists of more than 10,000 trees covering more than 100,000 square metres (30,000 tsubo). Servcorp’s commitment to tree planting has offset in excess of 2,689 tonnes of carbon dioxide. That’s equivalent to removing 650 cars from the roads for one whole year or taking a jumbo jet which flies San Francisco to Sydney 3 times per week out of the skies for three months.
The Green Offices Project also aims to reduce Servcorp’s paper usage across our global network of offices. Just one way that we do this is by promoting the electronic delivery of invoices through Servcorp Online.
Servcorp is bringing the low-paper office environment into reality with Servcorp’s unique online office setup process which saves nearly 100 individual pieces of paper for every new client. Servcorp’s converged network allows communication by internet, telephone, video conferencing, internet conference and integrates all these technologies into a single platform allowing ultimate flexibility and portability.
We are committed to communicating the seriousness of climate change and our support for a solution to all our clients and business partners. Servcorp has participated in Earth Hour since its conception by WWF and the Sydney Morning Herald in 2007. In 2009, Servcorp pledged their global commitment to Earth Hour and turned off our lights across our entire global network of offices. Hundreds of our clients and business partners joined us in doing so.
Servcorp is proud of the Green Offices Project which is a first for the serviced office industry. We believe that clients value this contribution to the future and appreciate working with a business partner who is committed to supporting the community and the planet with responsible corporate measures.
